Then you must be looking forward to something like a SEO Writing Assistant that can help you optimizing the tags, keywords, etc. to make your content appear in the search engines.

Being a trainer I often had questions that “How do we SEO Optimize the contents for Hard Coded sites?”. Because with WordPress and Shopify like CMSs you get to install tools like RankMath, Yoast SEO that works like a meter on your “On-Page SEO” content. Where in hard coded sites, its quite manual.

SEMRush SEO Writing Assistant works like a meter in the purpose of hard coded site’s On-Page SEO Content Writing. It is like an alternative of RankMath or Yoast SEO Plugin.

I have tried to find out fruitful content that have been created on this tool, but didn’t really get productive stuff. Hence thought of writing about it. Although, recently SEMRush have come up with a cool looking landing page for installation of this tool.

How does SEMRush SEO Writing Assistant Works?

It works like an extension on your Google Doc.

The purpose is to provide a seamless integration while you write and get to measure how well your content is getting optimized as per the keywords and tags you have selected.

Step 1

Install it in your Google Doc

You have to use it online as usual, it is not an offline version. And it works with an integration of your Google Doc.

*It also has a WordPress Plugin and SEMRush Interface. But as we already have quality plugins for WP on SEO Content Writing I am not talking about it.

What all Features You Can Use in SEMRush SEO Writing Assistant?

Type the below keyword on Google. Go for the link highlighted and you land up on the displayed landing page.

Click on “Install”.

Click on Continue and select the Google Account you want to continue with.

Allow the Permission.

You are done.

Head over to Docs.

Step 3

Click on the PLUS Sign right below GPS.

Step 4

See the Search Bar and write SEMRush SEO Writing Assistant. You will see it installed.

Step 5

Now, here I have pasted a dummy content to test the tool. Hover over on Tools and then SRMRush Writing Assistant and then Click on Show.

Here the tool is loaded.

Log in.

Step 7

Approve the same.

After you approve the request here, the remaining process is more or less like the way you use RankMath SEO Tool.

This is how it looks when the panel is launched. You better set the target audience properly and select your set of keywords. You can also extract keywords from the article you have written. After setting it you will get a qualitative overview of how your content should be. You got to go through that and deliver to that standard.

This tool can give you a dedicated analysis of your content. As below I have clicked on “readability” hence its showing the insights about it.

Including the score, best attributes you have sorted it will also show you the errors in your contents and how can you improve it.

The same goes with SEO, Tone of Voice and Originality.

While using this tool you may not get to see all the pointers in the fore front like you can find in RankMath or so. But it pretty much does the same job.

Well, you got to know that it has got two versions i.e. a free and a paid version. SEMRush calls it a Guru Subscription plan. Hence several features are under the plan of purchase.

This tool has some more features and is more insightful than WP SEO Content Plugins as mentioned above.
