I really didn’t plan to come up with this blog in an inclusive way. I was just preparing a mind map on the same for my trainees, and then it struck my mind that why can’t I put it across on the web as well.

I see everyone wants to learn digital marketing, which is awesome. But the point is, they are not treating it as Marketing and Sales or Business Development. They are more taking it like a computing skill, which doesn’t make sense, and this kinda thought might not lead you anywhere.
Digital Marketing is Marketing with Tech.
I love marketing, I love sales, I love tech, I love a laptop life and I love data.
Many professionals from tech backgrounds and sales backgrounds try to switch to digital marketing without having a clue what they are switching to.
Well, if you are not happy with tech, computers, and if you hate sales, targets, datum then digital marketing might not be suitable for you.

- Digital Marketers needs to be objective oriented.
Well, guess what, all the above is for those people who are looking forward to becoming a full-stack digital marketer. People who want to crack profiles like –

Now, if you count me by saying, “I would only want to work as an SEO Specialist or SEM Specialist, do I need to have the above traits?” – The answer is – NO.
Being an SEO, SEM, PPC Specialist or Digital Marketing Analytics Specialist, you do not need to be having all the above traits, but quite a few.

Can’t say no!
MBA Grads are more appreciated and qualified in most of the senior-level positions. Bags more salaries. Grows faster in their corporate career.
But it’s subjective to their education as well. Given that their MBA was not valuable as per the credentials, certification, institute and course curriculum, they may not be in the limelight like you see the others with the same tag.
Belonging from a good business school matters. Having a PGDM – Post Graduate Diploma in Management + Masters of Business Administration in Marketing matters.
In Digital Marketing, if you have an MBA and PGDM in Marketing, it helps.
Experience matters as well. If you are well experienced then you may crack that MBA cut off to be eligible for the same. But it’s subjective to the company.
If you do not have an MBA now, and cannot spend 2 years on a business school MBA, then you can go for an Executive MBA. It is great as well. Even many corporate help their employees to do that with finances and time. So, if you are working in such kind of companies (Mostly MNCs), you can bag such an opportunity, for which you have to do well in terms of performance as well as you have to score well in the internal tests of the organization.

Always looks for an MBA. Even as an executive into digital, if you have an MBA or PGDM it helps you to bag a better salary than a person who isn’t an MBA grad. FYI, I mean specialization in Marketing, MBA in Marketing.
